County Government Structure

ELECTED DEPARTMENT HEADS

In addition to the Board of Commissioners, the following Department Heads are also elected to four year terms through County-wide elections:

• Auditor/Treasurer
• Recorder
• Sheriff
• Attorney

APPOINTED DEPARTMENT HEADS

The County also has eight additional Department Head positions and these individuals are appointed by the Board of Commissioners:

• Assessor
• Veteran Services/Solid Waste/Safety Officer
• County Coordinator
• Highway Engineer
• Social Services Director
• 4-H Program Director
• Agricultural Inspector
• Emergency Management Director (38% position)
• Care Center Administrator
• Planning and Zoning Administrator/Wetland/Feedlot Officer
